THE SENIOR PORTRAIT EXPERIENCE

Joanne Vandal Photography offers seniors a unique and personalized portrait experience.  I strive to make each and every senior session unique, fun, personalized and timeless. Whether you are looking for something simple and quick or a session that is the full experience and allows for more time, outfit changes and options, there is something for everyone! No matter which package you chose, you will have awesome photos and the assurance that you are in good hands!

I am now taking bookings for spring and summer sessions that will have a turn around time of 2-3 weeks!  Here are some helpful FAQs to guide you through.

1. Do I have to get my senior photos done with the high school photographer?

You are probably getting mail from the school hired photographer, right?  Well, dont be fooled!  That photographer only needs to take the one picture for your yearbook.   They will try to sell you more, but they are very generic and very expensive.   After (or before) you have that boring headshot done, you can come to me for your personalized photo session.  Leaving the boring head shot to the school photographer.

2.  How do I schedule my session ?

Just shoot me an  EMAIL  and we can set it up.  We will do a  consultation to talk about what you want your session to look like and the vibe you want to give off.  We will go over wardrobe and styling and location, everything to make sure your images are perfect!

3.  When do I pay my session fee?

Your session fee is due at the time you book your appointment.  Senior Portrait Season is very busy, as you can imagine.  If we book you in and you do not show up for some reason, that is a slot that could have otherwise been booked.  Therefore, we need to receive payment before putting you in the calendar.  The session fee is non-refundable, but can be used if you need to reschedule your appointment with 24 hours prior notice.

4.  Where do you photograph?

All sessions are done on location and we will discuss that when you book.  I use many different parks and cool areas in the northern CT area.  If you are interested in doing a session out of the area, like the beach or Harkness Park,  that's totally fine too, there is just an extra travel fee for that.

5.  What do I bring to my Senior Portrait Session?

We recommend bringing several outfit, any accessories, jewelry,  any props and makeup for touch ups. If you are incorporating a sport or dance into your session, bring what you need for that too! I also recommend bringing water to drink and bug spray!

6. How long do I have to wait to see my images?

You will have a sneak peek on facebook and instagram within a week and your full gallery will be up within 10 days to 2 weeks.

7. What if I have a pimple?

We retouch everything that will be a final digital file or printed – at no additional charge.  There are not hidden or “surprise” charges.  Because it is our job to make you look your best.  That is why our session fee and print prices are a little higher.

8. How long do you keep my images?

We archive for one year.  After that, files may be deleted.

9. What if there is bad weather on the day of my shoot?

Don’t worry, I will leave 1-3 days open during the week for reschedules. I will notify you asap if we do have to reschedule, however we usually only reschedule if there is either a high chance of rain, OR if it’s going to be too cold to be comfortable.  If it’s overcast don’t worry, that is IDEAL for photos!

10. What type of payment do you accept?

Cash, credit, venmo and checks are accepted
